Who we are

We are Nana Berchie trading as Nana Berchie Design Rituals, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We trade under the name Nana Berchie Design Rituals. For privacy matters, please contact us at hello@nanaberchie.com.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Identity and contact details you provide - for example your name, email address, telephone number and message when you submit an enquiry or commission form.
• Newsletter details - your email address when you subscribe to occasional studio updates.
• Order and delivery details - when you buy through Shopify checkout, Shopify processes payment, billing and shipping information on our behalf.
• Studio experience booking details - when you book via an external booking link, that provider may collect information under its own privacy notice; we may also receive confirmation details needed to run the session.
• Technical and preference data - such as cookie consent choices stored in your browser, and a private-viewing access cookie if you unlock the unlisted viewing room.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Respond to enquiries and commission conversations.
• Fulfil orders, arrange shipping and provide related customer care.
• Send newsletter updates where you have asked us to.
• Operate and secure the website, including private viewing access and cookie preferences.
• Meet legal and accounting obligations.

Lawful bases

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we rely on one or more of the following bases:

• Contract - to take steps at your request before a purchase or commission, and to perform a contract with you.
• Legitimate interests - to run and improve a craft business website, respond to general enquiries and keep the site secure, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent - for newsletter signup and for optional cookies (where used). You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation - where we must keep records for tax or other legal reasons.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers who process information on our instructions:

• Shopify - catalogue, cart and checkout (including payment processing via Shopify’s payment partners).
• Brevo - transactional emails for enquiries and newsletter contact management.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers - to serve and secure the website.
• Specialist carriers or art handlers - where needed to deliver a work, and only to the extent required for shipment.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we expect appropriate safeguards consistent with UK data protection law.

How long we keep information

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected - for example while an enquiry or order is active, for the period required by tax and accounting rules, or until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Access cookies and consent preferences are retained as described in our Cookie Policy.

Your rights

You may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. To exercise these rights, email hello@nanaberchie.com.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK. We would welcome the chance to resolve any concern first.
